Aarke Expands with Minimalist "Coffee System" | Hypebeast

Oct 17, 2024

Swedish design brand Aarke has extended its line of minimalist home appliances to include a coffee maker, coffee grinder, and a thermal jug.

Having made its name with its carbonator, the brand has applied the same design-led thinking to its new designs – a coffee system made up of kit of parts.

Each is typical of the Aarke aesthetic – clean stainless steel with minimal detailing. Beyond the aesthetic design, the functionality ensures the art of making a good morning coffee is kept as simple as possible. “With every new Aarke project, we aim to bring meaning and beauty to mundane routines, gently transforming them into little rituals,” the brand say.

The Coffee Grinder automatically calculates the amount needed in relation to the amount of water in the tank, while the temperature is controlled by the Coffee Maker adjusts to a perfect brew. A thermal jug – which is sold either separately or alongside the full system – keeps your drink toasty.

“For us, there are no shortcuts when developing a product with a human-centered approach. A carefully engineered product shouldn’t be complicated to use. It takes countless hours and iterations to create a thought through and high-qualityproduct,” says Carl Ljungh, co-founder and chief designer at Aarke.

According to Aarke, it takes just six minutes to brew a full pot. Beans can be ground according to preference, and the whole internal system is designed to be as mess-free as possible.

The Aarke Coffee Maker and Coffee Grinder is available for preorder now, and is set to launch on October 29 on aarke.com. The Thermal Jug will be available later this year. The full set is priced at €720 (approximately $784 USD), with each piece also sold and priced individually.
